It's bound to happen while you're in cosmetology school, right? I've been wanting to make a huge change to my hair for awhile now and i've been so obsessed with ombre/balayage since I discovered Guy Tang on instagram. And so many girls have been coming into the salon and asking for this! I think ombre/balayage is here to stay. (i'll do a post soon about summer 2015 hair trends)
Anyways, props to my girl Holli for doing an amazing job on my hair...and putting up with me being difficult.

p.s. I jumped to a Level 2 at school!

I tend to be pretty low maintenance when it comes to my hair so this is a pretty short list...

Pureology Colour Fanatic: HOLY GRAIL. It's 21 benefits does your hair wonders and smells amazing. 

Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray: Let me be honest; I bought this a few years ago to get my stick straight hair into "sexy, beachy waves"...but of course I was a fool to think it would work. So I forgot about it till recently when I needed some texture for an updo I was doing.

Redken Guts 10: volume-less haired girls, meet your savior. Spray this at the roots + blow dry with a round brush = volume like no other.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Cherry: So I feel slightly guilty when I use this because it's not salon quality and I don't know exactly what is in it but every time I try to find one to replace it; I always come back to this one! I think the cherry one smells the best.

Sam Villa Blow Dry: We use Sam Villa tools at school so when I use my cheap blow dryer at home it feels like a brick. This one is a bit spendy but it's super light weight, quiet and has a short nozzle which makes round brushing your own hair easier.

Sam Villa Straightening Iron: Like the blow dryer, it's on the higher price range but it's lightweight and makes your hair shiny!

NuMe Magic Wand 25MM: Truthfully, I can't curl my own hair with a normal curling iron without leaving kinks. Thankfully they invented the wand. I love how fast this one heats up and with my fine hair the curls actually last for a couple days! *check out your favorite youtube beauty gurus for a discount code!

happy valentine's day!

Oh Valentine's Day is finally here and you either love it or hate it. This year i'm loving it! I'm sticking to my new year's resolution by staying single and couldn't be happier. I will be spending the weekend with the pup and family; with a little me time.
How ever you will be spending Valentine's Day, I hope your day is filled with lots of love!

what are your new year resolutions?

I'm sitting here a day before the New Year reflecting on this past year and it was certainly a year filled with ups + downs! — although I didn't expect to end relationships that I had at the start of the year; I certainly didn't expect that I'd ever commit to going to school, but I am proud of myself for finally starting the next chapter of my life! 

Which got me thinking, I want 2015 to be about me, which sounds selfish but I've never taken time out to build myself and my future up. So my resolutions are:

Get back in the gym Eat right Blog/capture more moments Get my own place again Graduate in the fall at a level 4 or higher! Stay single for the whole year (unless I find McDreamy)
